Centre Furnace Mansion Garden Gala

Sunday, June 12, 2011 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Two hundred twenty years after Centre Furnace first went 'into blast,' the Centre Furnace Mansion is now home to the Centre County Historical Society. Join us for an afternoon in one of Centre County's most graceful historic sites. Stroll the gardens and grounds, enjoy music, beverages and hors d'oeuvres, tour the historic Centre Furnace Mansion and bid on treasures at the silent auction.

The Garden Gala is a major fundraising event for the Centre County Historical Society that helps to continue its leadership as the county's oldest and largest historical organization. The Centre Furnace Mansion, Boogersburg School and their gardens and grounds have become increasingly important teaching tools, making their development and maintenance more critical than ever.

Music by the 46th Pennsylvania Regiment Band

In commemoration of the Civil War Sesquicentennial, the 46th Pennsylvania Regiment Band will be performing throughout the afternoon. Made up of talented musicians and historians, the band performs primarily with original instruments from the mid to late 19th century.
