The Gardens at Centre Furnace Mansion Exhibition
May 8-October 10, 2010

The Gardens at Centre Furnace Mansion exhibition, an independent study through Penn State by Mary Sorensen, tells the story of the gardens and grounds at Centre Furnace Mansion from the 19th century to the present.

Since the 1980s restoration of Centre Furnace Mansion, its gardens and grounds have been on the minds of its gardeners from the Centre County Historical Society and faculty from Penn State. With this, the Penn State Master Gardeners of Centre County Cooperative Extension had a solid base from which to launch a program in the past decade to maintain and develop the gardens for the purpose of education and beautification.

Please join us on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. for the exhibit opening reception.

Funding has been provided for this independent study by the Karen Rugh-Richard Pencek Program Endowment for American Art and Culture, Mary Sorensen and the Penn State Master Gardeners of Centre County Cooperative Extension. Graphic Design for the exhibition was done by David Lembeck.

The exhibit will be on view in the Centre Furnace Mansion's exhibition building on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., or by appointment. For more information, please call (814) 234-4779.
